Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weekend!
It's a wonderful 77 degrees here in Louisiana and I'm relishing the last of 3 days of Spring Break!
It makes me wanna go shop for flip flops!! In fact, I did squeeze a little retail therapy into my weekend-
I hit some great sales & managed to buy some cropped pants and a few short sleeved shirts- spring is on its way!
I thought I'd share in the shopping fun and throw my own sale-
all Easter items in my TPT store are 15% off through tomorrow....
....but what's even better than a sale?!? A GIVEAWAY!
I hope you read my previous blog post about my "Thomas" themed activities for phonemic awareness, early literacy and speech therapy.
If not, check it out, because I'm giving away 3 copies of
If you think this is something your students could use or would love,
You can enter to win it here ....right there on the right panel --------->>>>>
I'll announce the winners on Friday Morning! (April 5)
Good luck!!
-Mia
Answering questions and increasing MLU in my little ones. I have a group kinder boys that love my basketball hoop, so some activities with that theme would go over well with them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Felice- I do have a fave answering questions activity (Cupcake Questions) and I plan to make some more. I agree, we always need to work on increasing MLU- I usually just use play therapy for that- but now you have my wheels turning! Thanks for the suggestion - sports theme is a great idea!

This activity will be great for all of my boys!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh Joy, that's great to hear! I personally don't "get" the Thomas fascination but several of my little boys are obsessed!
DeleteI love the phonemic awareness packs.many of my students (even 2nd and 3rd graders)have difficulty rhyming and with syllables. Star Wars and Super Mario are always popular with my boys. It's hard to find something that appeals to my older girls (unless you have Justin Bieber clip art!!). They are beyond the princesses! I love your materials!!
ReplyDeleteYes Amy, I agree, some kids continue to struggle with it! I have a couple of 4th graders (hard to believe!) still learning the basics- breaks my heart :( BusyBeeSpeech has a great Mario activity out right now & if you look at my TPT store, I have a Star Wars board game in my open ended board games (the one with popular themes). I'm trying to figure out what else to do with Star Wars. I totally know what you mean about the older girls!! I don't have Justin Beiber (thank goodness! haha) but I just posted a "text message" activity today :) Thanks so much for leaving a comment and for your ideas!
DeleteI have a preK little one who LOVES Thomas...ANYTHING Thomas! He has CAS and this activity could definitely be adapted to work great for him. More materials for addressing CAS would be great...can't ever have enough!
ReplyDeletetwmorlan@gmail.com
Funny you should say that- I have a Thomas lovin' guy with CAS, too. That's a great suggestion- I will play around with the idea of activities especially for apraxia. I happen to love working with apraxic kids- the end result is always so rewarding and since I spend so much time with them, they end up having a special place in my <3. Thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteThomas and Friends are always a hit with my pre-k kiddos. Lately they are so into animals-farm, zoo, ocean, dinos. They love them all.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Thomas is something your kiddos will like!! Good luck with the giveaway, and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment- means a lot to me :)
DeleteMy students seem to like Cars and Superheros. I can always use more activities for elementary school age children.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, Breana, I hadn't thought of Cars- I will have to keep that in mind! I do have some super hero activities in my TPT store and I have another one in the works- my guys love super heroes, too! Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment :)
DeleteI'm always looking for vocabulary, grammar and social skills.
ReplyDeleteI haven't attempted creating a vocabulary activity yet, but I do have a grammar activity "under construction." I LOVE doing social skills! You can find a princess AND a super hero social skills activity in my TPT store- they're 2 of my favorites!! Thanks for the suggestion, Marya!
DeleteI love the train theme. My kids love trains, angry birds, and spiderman. I would love preschool social skills and creating expanded sentences.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, I have some social skills activities in my TPT store, but I hadn't thought of one for preschoolers- that's a great idea! I'm glad to know that trains will work for you (maybe you will win it!). My kids are ALL ABOUT Angry Birds and Spiderman, too (all super heroes in fact), which is why you'll notice I make those. They make my kids putty in my hands LOL :) I've been looking into the Expanding Expression Tool but never thought of actually creating something to target expanding sentences! Thanks for your suggestions- all great!!
DeleteThough Thomas and friends have a place in my heart, a lot of my kiddos are really into the app or computer game: Minecraft - although Angry Birds still rate pretty high!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH SHARON, I have a few boys completely consumed by mine craft also! That's all they talk or think about- No kidding!! I've actually looked for minecraft clipart but it's pretty scarce. Yep, my kids are cuckoo for Angry Birds, too! I have a couple of Angry Birds activities in my TPT store, but I might even make more- I don't know if Angry Birds will ever get old. Thanks for leaving a comment- sounds like you and I work with very similiar kiddos!
DeletePhonemic awareness is such a struggle for many of my kids. Working on these skills with such a fun activity makes the kids beg for more.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I truly hope that is the case :)) I agree that these skills are tough for our kiddos :(
DeleteThanks for taking the time to leave me a comment - I appreciate it more than you know!
Would love anything for vocabulary building.
ReplyDeleteI haven't quite wrapped my head around how to do that, but you're not the only one asking, so it looks like there is a need! Thanks for the suggestion- I trully appreciate it!
DeleteLittle boys love Thomas but my little girls are loving Dora!! :-)

social pragmatic language skills
ReplyDeleteMy kids love Thomas! The little boys tend to like Elmo and superheroes. I'm always in need of more early developing sounds ideas.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Thanks for the giveaway, Mia! This activity packet looks absolutely fabulous! I need anything and everything for preschoolers and also maintaining attention. Knock yourself out with those :)
ReplyDeletehomesweetspeechroom.blogspot.com
This packet looks great! The graphics are cute and it looks like it would be helpful for my client with apraxia. My kids are always interested in anything with princesses and Angry Birds. I see that you have some of those activities in your store and I can't wait to check them out! ~Erin
ReplyDeleteThanks for this giveaway opportunity! The packet looks really great - I love anything I can use for Phonemic Awareness, since the majority of my caseload has PA as one of their goals. A few other skills I'd like to see addressed are: pronouns, following directions, plurals. And maybe even something for voice quality/vocal hygiene (it's less common so I have fewer materials for it)! As for characters, my kids usually love anything as long as it's fun... but I do have one student in particular who is obsessed with "Cars" (the movie). Thanks again for all your hard work! :) -Kathleen
ReplyDeleteThis looks so awesome! Kids love trains! I was just thinking the other day that it would be great to have materials with Dora or Winnie the Pooh (or any other Disney characters) to go with some books that I have but I guess it's hard to do so with copyright and such.
ReplyDeleteMy students really enjoy superheros and princesses. I'm always in need of activities that target vocabulary and grammar skills. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy little boys love anything construction!
